| Meet Pastor Larry Griffith and Crew...
Pastor Larry is from Texas and is embracing our colder climate with open arms. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and following Texas Aggie sports. He often processes his own meat, and is also a great cook. He specializes in barbecue and foods with a cajun flair.
Larry is passionate about missions. He has traveled twice to Brazil and three times to Mescalero, New Mexico on mission trips. He has also participated in Texas-Mexico border ministry, as well as a trip to Manitowoc, Wisconsin;
where he first caught the missions bug. He was certified as a counselor
in substance abuse, marriage and family counseling by the Texas
Department of Mental Health.
Larry and his wife, Ramona, are celebrating 16 years
of marriage this year. They met at Texas A&M University, where Larry received his master's degree in education
and Ramona studied agricultural journalism and human nutrition. Ramona
feels especially favored by God to have found someone who loves and
cherishes her as much as Larry does. She enjoys fishing with Larry, as
well as researching and gardening with native plants.
Ramona trains VBS teachers each spring, and helps
run a ministry of encouragement to pastors' wives. She also dabbles
with music, proofreading, and website editing. However, she believes
her strongest calling in life is to be involved in pure water ministry.
Last September, God put an intense burden on her heart for the children
who die every year simply because they lack clean water. She has
organized a fund raiser for the Pure Water, Pure Love ministry in the past; and recently completed health education training with
Living Water International in Houston, Texas.
The Griffith's have 3 children – Dallas (14), Daniel
(9), and Anissa (4). The family also has a 90-gallon aquarium that will
soon be full of fish again. They have already fallen in love with the
church family of Brown Deer, and are anxious to settle in and get to
know everyone.
Pastor Larry welcomes your
responses.
